Products and the R&D organization positioned for the future

Products and R&D organization at Minimax Viking

Minimax supplies customized fire protection solutions for automotive plants, power stations, logistics centers, office and administration buildings, data centers or ships. The company‘s goal is to bring both its products and its product development into the digital age. To achieve this, Minimax has drawn upon the extensive expertise of the UNITY Innovation Alliance and created added value in its products and R&D organization in various projects.
Using standard hardware and software components as well as agile development methods, Smart Mechatronics developed the basis for a communication platform between a central fire alarm system and a building management system that meets the highest requirements for safety and reliability in around twelve months.
CP contech electronic contributed its expertise to the development of a monitoring system for fire extinguishing systems. The various valves were connected to the monitoring system through a wireless network, and an innovative operating concept was implemented via a smartphone application. The associated electronics were produced and installed into the overall product by CP contech electronic.
UNITY played a key role in the development of a strategically important, mechatronic system by supporting the structuring and management of the project, and led the R&D project to success. Moreover, UNITY made a significant contribution to making its R&D fit for the challenges of the future by providing systems engineering certification training (SE-ZERT®) to its employees.

Developed a market ready product in just 12 months

Produced and delivered 150 assemblies to Minimax

Certified 12 Systems Engineers for SE-ZERT®

“We have worked with the UNITY Innovation Alliance for a long time and have benefited greatly from their wide range of expertise: from the SE qualification by UNITY to the production and assembly of required electronic components by CP contech electronic, and the concrete support in complex development projects by Smart Mechatronics. We have always been satisfied with the results and the collaboration itself.”
