Concentration of acute inpatient care capacities across facilities with the aim of fulfilling the quality criteria and minimum retention rates of a service group

Requirements are:

• At least two facilities are involved (same or different sponsorship)
• There is a concentration of acute inpatient care capacities
• The project deals with merging, exchanging, restructuring or shifting services

The Hospital Care Improvement Act introduces cross-sector care facilities. If the responsible federal state authority determines that a hospital is to be restructured into such a facility, the arising costs are eligible for funding.

Projects for forming telemedical network structures between hospitals, including creating the requirements for the implementation of robot-assisted telesurgery, are eligible for funding. The aim is to make the medical expertise of one hospital accessible to other hospitals and thus achieve comprehensive, high-quality care.

Projects for the creation of centers for treating rare, complex or serious diseases at university hospitals, insofar as university hospitals and hospitals that are not university hospitals are jointly involved in these projects. The aim is to achieve sustainable improvements in diagnostics and therapy by pooling medical treatment expertise and/or to improve the provision of the necessary nursing staff.

The creation of regionally bounded hospital networks to reduce duplicate structures in the provision of services in one or more service groups is eligible for funding.

Requirements are:

• At least two hospitals (same or different funding bodys!) work together in the hospital network
• The hospitals are located in one region
• The creation of the network is permissible under competition law

The formation of integrated emergency structures is promoted. It is important that these emergency structures have a long-term perspective and are not the responsibility of the KV.

Projects to close a hospital or parts of a hospital, particularly in areas with a high density of hospitals and hospital beds. Costs that arise for the closure, in particular for construction measures and personnel measures, are eligible for funding.

Creation of additional apprenticeship capacities in state-recognized facilities at a hospital that is the funding body or co-funding-body of the apprenticeship facility for various professions, e.g. nursing specialist, health and children's nurse and in the field of nursing aid and assistance.
