Material Compliance

Material Compliance

European regulations such as REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) and RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) restrict the use of certain chemicals and hazardous substances in industrial products. For manufacturers and distributors of such products, this means an obligation to prove the conformity of their own products with these and, depending on the market, other international regulations.

Comprehensive knowledge of the material composition of our own products is required to provide reliable proof of conformity. This applies both to parts manufactured in-house and to parts purchased from suppliers. A wide range of products, a large number of variants, high product complexity and sales in many different markets result in a great deal of effort in managing Material Compliance and entail the risk of unconscious and unintentional violations. If such violations are discovered, there is a risk of consequences such as sales and export stops, fines, supply chain problems and loss of customers. The members of the management are personally liable here.

The way to reliably ensure Material Compliance is through digital processes and IT solutions that create a corresponding data flow from the supplier to purchasing and development to sales. This ensures complete transparency and allows compliance to be checked for all conceivable product configurations at the touch of a button.

Sleep more soundly knowing that you have no loose ends when it comes to Material Compliance and at the same time create the basis for other environmental and future topics such as CO2 reduction and the circular economy!
