Klaas Rackebrandt

My name is Klaas Rackebrandt and I am (now) CEO of Scalania AG, an investment company of the UNITY Innovation Alliance (UIA). After almost four years of doctoral studies at the interface between medicine and technology, I started out as a consultant and team leader at UNITY AG in Hamburg – my home port. During my first six years, I was primarily involved in projects related to strategy development in the context of digitalization. Working closely with our customers, we set the course for them to emerge as winners from digitalization. My customers were medium-sized companies across various industries, but also international corporations. Together with UNITY AG, I developed the business model for Scalania AG and secured UIA as an investor. This consistency within the group and the development opportunities are what make UNITY special.
At UNITY, I immediately found a diverse work environment and exciting development opportunities. The family atmosphere struck me right from the job interviews. This first impression has been confirmed every day since I started, and now also at UIA. In my free time, I enjoy sports – I don't care what kind: I've tried track and field, basketball, and soccer, but I've settled on snowboarding, golf, and kitesurfing. I also work as a photo model here and there – and go to punk rock concerts. Both in terms of music and its location between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, Hamburg is the perfect place to switch between the two coastal regions depending on the wind and weather.
When the weather in Germany starts to get colder, my wife and I usually head off to warmer climes to enjoy the sun a little longer and shorten the wet winter in Hamburg.
